After Transgender fighter Fallon Fox, who broke the skull of a woman opponent now Alana McLaughlin has hurled punches at a female fighter to win an MMA fight. McLaughlin secured first professional win at Combat Global in the debut match.
Before transition, Alana McLaughlin was a US Special Forces soldier who later transitioned to become a woman.
In Miami, last week McLaughlin beat Celine Provost by submission in around three minutes. After victory ex-Military put on a t-shirt saying ‘end trans genocide’.
Transgenderism is one of the hottest topics when it comes to sporting events. Lately, The International Olympic Committee announced that transgender athletes can compete even in the Olympics without transition surgery. However the pinch of salt here is that only female to male athletes can compete without such restraints, but male turned female athletes need to undergo hormone therapy before they can participate.
Social Media outrage
After the fight, many called this an unfair fight and questioned the validity of such a fight. Some even called this ‘cheating’.
McLaughlin responded to these comments via Twitter account saying.
“Good morning, friends, supporters and others! I’m getting a lot of variations of the same nasty messages calling me a cheater like I didn’t just get beat on for a round and a half.”.
“Y’all need to show Celine Provost some respect and take your concern trolling elsewhere.
“She almost finished me more than once, and on scorecards she definitely won that first round. This is the only post I’ll make about this. Transphobes are just making my block hand stronger.”Alana McLaughlin, Twitter…
Many Strikeforce champions like Jake Shields were taken aback realizing that renowned sporting commissions would be allowed this person to fight a woman

Sean O’Melly’s protest
Instead of giving diplomatic answers, O’Malley said
“It’s like she had testosterone for, who knows, 20, 30 years of her life and now I’m a girl. And look at that, you could tell that’s a dude. A jacked girl. I mean, look at those arms.”
Demian Maia also Scoffs At Transgender Fighter Facing Women
“I think it’s absurd for you to put a person who was born a man to fight a woman. I’m going to talk about my sport, which is fighting. The person (who faces the trans athlete) will get hurt. There is no comparison. ‘Oh, but she started taking (female) hormones early on.’ Does not matter.
“The development there… And it’s not prejudice, none of that. But you have to understand that to work on the issue of prejudice in society, it’s not like that. This is not what will make people more or less prejudiced.”
